Heavenly Bodies: A Writing Workshop for Women on Lopez Island, WA

heavenly bodiesI’m offering this FREE workshop as a part of my writing residency at Woodland Keep on Lopez Island in Washington (where I am finishing Lady Parts #2: The Anger Issue)!

Through our bodies, we experience the world’s most outrageous pleasures and most frustrating pains, and our relationships with our bodies determine how we experience the world. Celebrate, examine, heal, reminisce over and laugh about your relationship with your one and only body in this morning writing workshop for women. We’ll write and share stories in a safe, fun, honest and empowering space and leave with new perspectives on how to love our female bodies. We’ll incorporate herbal medicine (essential oils, tinctures and flower essences) into our writing practice, as well. (*Women of all ages and lifestyles, including cis and transgender women and nonbinary folks are welcome and encouraged to attend!)

Pre-Order LADY PARTS Zine #2

maenadThe second issue of Lady Parts is in the works and I’m so excited! If you’d like to pre-order a copy (for delivery in mid-June 2017), please see below for details.

LADY PARTS #2: WOMEN & ANGER explores the ways women (cis, trans, queer, woc) address our own anger about social justice issues, relationships and more, and the ways in which anger is often directed at us.

In this day and age, we have A LOT to be angry about. How does that anger manifest? How do we fight back? How do we protect and care for our bodies and our communities when there is so much to rage about? How do we channel this anger into social change, creative work, community building, magic and more?

LADY PARTS #2 includes personal essays, interviews, art, herbal tips, magic spells and more from Dani Burlison, Leilani Clark, Michelle Cruz Gonzales, Ariel Gore, Inés Ixierda, Phoenix LeFae, Lily Mazzarella, Goli Mohammadi, Kandis Williams and Scout Wolfcave.
