Northern California Women's Herbal Symposium

  • Black Oak Ranch Laytonville, CA USA (map)

1. Herbal Support for Living in A Fire Ecology:
As wildfires become more frequent (and catastrophic), we can turn to plant medicine to support exposure to the hazardous toxins we inhale during fire season. In this workshop, we’ll talk about respiratory support in the form of demulcents, tonics, essential oils and detoxifying herbs to keep our systems strong during and after smoke exposure.

2. Finding Balance in Difficult Times: Yoga, Writing & Self-care for Activists (2-part): This 3 hour workshop is to help activists, social workers, educators, healers, etc learn tools to help with physical and emotional self-care while working in stressful and unpredictable times. The workshop will include grounding a yoga practice, journaling/writing, and herbal and emotional self-care tips to help restore balance and to stay grounded.

3. Calling Inanna in Times of Change (2-part class with Phoenix LeFae):

Inanna is known as the Queen of heaven, Goddess of Love and War and through her descent to the underworld she gives up earthy possessions and ultimately her life before she is offered a new beginning. Inanna has much to teach us about sacrifice, grief and justice.

What must you sacrifice to start anew? How do you take care of your body while fighting for justice? Calling on the wisdom of Inanna, we will use writing, herbs and trance as we gather to explore our own relationships to the underworld and reclaim a sense of justice in our own physical and emotional bodies.
